The first public meeting for Hold the Rope was in December 2023 when founder Nathan Taitt invited a core group of friends to imagine a future where Jesus-following communities could strengthen their relationship with frontline missionaries by “holding the rope.”  Building on the momentum from that gathering, Nathan felt a growing sense of urgency to move forward. In April 2024, Nathan and Steve had a God-ordained encounter at an unlikely setting: a Shakespeare Festival. (Isn’t that where all the big meetings happen?)

This providential meeting turned into conversations over coffee processing the dream behind Hold the Rope. The coffee conversations gave way to prayer meetings as Nathan and Steve asked God for direction and confirmation during the summer of 2024. The gateway to lifetime engagement is taking shape through On Mission with God: A 30-Day Global Adventure, exploring online how God is at work around the world, what still needs to be done and how everyone can play a part in God’s mission.

August 1, 2024, was day one for Hold the Rope, with Steve Moore stepping into the role of president, alongside founder, Nathan Taitt. There are approximately one-hundred working days through December 20, 2024. Here’s what we have on the roadmap for the first 100 days:

  • Introductory landing page – HoldtheRope.com
  • Weekly blog updates
  • Enlist a core group of development partners from our core user communities to give real time feedback
  • Refine “job-to-be-done” value proposition for key market segments (churches, mission agencies, national ministry/missions, missionaries)
  • Refine Minimally Viable Product (MVP) specs and features
  • Develop wire frame of Progressive Web App (PWA)
  • Engage developer team for the PWA
  • Begin content creation library
  • Connect with potential partners
  • Build advisory team for counsel and expertise

In December we’ll share the core elements of our next 90-day sprint for the first quarter of 2025 with a report on our progress.
