Palau’s missions picture is almost the opposite of a frontier field. This tiny Pacific island nation is broadly Christian, with only one listed unreached people group of about 1,100 Japanese. The larger task is helping culturally Christian families grow in biblical depth while preparing younger Palauan leaders for ministry, regional partnership, and long-term church health in a society shaped by migration and island isolation.

A History of God's Faithfulness in Palau

Spanish Catholic influence preceded German and American-era Protestant mission; local Palauan churches later became central to community life and Pacific Christian networks. That history now shapes how Palau’s churches understand local leadership, witness, and mission. The next chapter will be strongest when local churches disciple their own people and engage younger Palauans and the small Japanese community with biblical clarity and cultural wisdom.

    Palau's remaining frontier is small, so the greater task is spiritual renewal, leadership development, and Pacific missionary partnership.
