A History of God's Faithfulness in Uganda

Anglican and Catholic missions arrived in the late 19th century; evangelical revival later swept Uganda, and national churches expanded through education, healthcare, evangelism, and regional missionary sending. Today’s strongest path is deeper indigenous leadership rather than permanent dependence on outside workers. That history matters because today’s churches must serve Muslim communities, nominal Christians, and unreached Aringa people with greater local ownership.

    Anglican and Catholic missions arrived in the late 19th century.

    evangelical revival later swept Uganda, and national churches expanded through education, healthcare, evangelism, and regional missionary sending.

    In Uganda, leadership now has to emerge from a church shaped by a heavily Christian East African nation shaped by the Uganda Martyrs, East African Revival, rapid church growth, and major refugee hosting; national pastors and lay believers are best positioned to disciple Muslim communities, nominal Christians, and unreached Aringa people.

  4. Modern Movement

    Contemporary ministry in Uganda now intersects with refugees, small farmers, and low-income urban families and refugee settlements and rural northern districts. Churches also need practical readiness for floods, landslides, drought, and refugee crises.
